First Aid For Dogs

Following the 'sell out' success of the 2 'First Aid for Dogs' courses that we ran last year, we are delighted to be offering 2 more again this year.

The courses are relaxed and informal and open to pet dog owners as well as anyone working with dogs (such as groomers, dog walkers etc).

The sessions are presented by a Senior Veterinary Nurse and a wide range of subjects will be covered such as how to cope with wounds, bleeding, heatstroke, bandaging, burns etc. Other essentials like recognising signs of poisoning, snake bites, fractures etc. are also discussed.

There will be an opportunity to practice your bandaging technique on model dogs (which is much easier than the real thing as they don't fidget!) and there will be plenty of opportunity to chat to the staff during the morning.

The price includes a 'First Aid for Dogs' Booklet and a Certificate of Attendance.

A range of First Aid kits and related items will be available should you wish to purchase them.

Tea and coffee will be provided from Registration at 9am and during the mid morning break.

Places will be strictly limited so early booking is advised to avoid dissapointment. The price has been kept the same as last year at £35 per person.

PLEASE REMEMBER - DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG!!

To book a place on one of the following dates - contact Mandy, Tel: 01256 782154 or email: mandy.diamonddogs@btinternet.com

Puppy Foundation Class

waggy puppy

A six week course for puppies of 18 weeks or under at the start of the course.

Please note that classes at East Oakley Village Hall are NOT held on the LAST FRIDAY of each month so these 6 week courses run over a 7 week period.

As long as puppies are a minimum of 8 weeks old and have had their first vaccination by a vet at least 5 days previously, they can attend the classes. Puppies do not need to have completed their entire vaccination programme before attending. This enables owners to address the very important socialisation and learning opportunities for their puppies before the critical learning phase closes. This early learning is essential for puppies to develop into confident, non agressive and well mannered adults. This critical period can be missed if puppies experiences of the world don't start until after their vaccination programmes have been completed. Puppy classes are an ideal way to introduce puppies to life outside the home and to introduce owners to other aspects of canine care.

Friday 20th August 2010 6-7pm at East Oakley Village Hall

Starting Wednesday 1st September 2010 6-7pm at Kempshott Village Hall
